Are you ready to adjust or jump out?
I am quite sure that most of us have heard about the story of the frog. I’ll still use the story to impact one or two. “One day a man decided to put a frog into a vessel, filled it with water and started heating the water. As the water began to heat, the frog adjusted its body temperature of which most of us have a knowledge in our high schools Biology. The frog kept on adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. As the water was about to boil, the frog could not adjust anymore and at this time, the frog decided to jump out. It tried to jump but could not as it had exhausted all the energy during adjustment. The frog later died!”
Most of us if asked what killed the frog tend to think that it was the boiling water but that is not the case. I tend to think that it was because of the the frogs inability to decide to jump out.
Charles R. Swindoll quotes that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. We all need to adjust with people and situations but we need to be sure when to also move on. We do not need to wait until situations get hot and unbearable like the frog waited for the water to boil, if we wait people and situations to exploit us physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally, they will continue to do so. Let us decide to jump out when we have strength.
